How Healthy Is Your IT Foundation?
Answer 12 practical questions to get your free IT Health Score and see where focused improvements may help.
What does the IT Health Score measure?
The IT Health Score is a free, two-minute self-check for growing businesses in the Kansas City metro, typically those with 20 to 100 employees, that want an honest read on whether their technology foundation is being managed or merely kept running. It asks twelve practical questions, one for each area that most often decides whether a small business recovers quickly from an outage, a lost laptop, a phishing email, or a departing employee.
The twelve areas are: MFA and identity, managed endpoint security, patch management, backup coverage, restore testing, employee onboarding and offboarding, privileged access, Microsoft 365 and email security, firewall and network ownership, documentation and inventory, incident and insurance readiness, and overall IT ownership. Each question is answered Yes, Partial, or No / not sure. A Yes earns full credit, a Partial earns half, and a No earns none, so the score rewards what is actually in place rather than what is planned.
How the score is read
- 85 and above, Strong Foundation: the foundation is in good shape; the useful next step is usually a quarterly review rhythm.
- 70 to 84, Needs Attention: most controls exist, with a few gaps that are worth closing before they are tested by an incident.
- 50 to 69, Elevated Risk: important areas are partial or unowned; prioritizing them is the work of the next quarter.
- Below 50, High Uncertainty / High Risk: IT is being kept running rather than managed, and a structured onboarding is the practical path.
What happens after you submit
Your score and band appear immediately on this page. If you want to talk it through, book a 25-minute IT Fit Call with MVTS. The call is a conversation about your users, your environment, and whether a Managed IT Department fits both sides; it is not a sales presentation and nothing is installed or scanned. Your answers are sent to MVTS so the conversation can start from where you actually are.
