Privacy Policy

What we collect

On most pages we collect anonymous usage data: pages viewed, referring URL, approximate location (city level, derived from IP), device type, and the marketing campaign that brought you here (UTM parameters). We do this through Google Analytics 4 and PostHog.

When you fill out the contact form, the security assessment, or the quote estimator, we collect the information you provide: typically name, email, phone, company, and the details of your request. When you book a call through our scheduling provider (LeadConnector by HighLevel) we collect what Cal collects: name, email, the time you picked, and any notes you add.

When you subscribe to the monthly KC IT Security Briefing we collect your email address.

How we use it

• Respond to your inquiry. If you ask for a quote, we send you a quote. If you book a call, we show up.
• Send the monthly briefing if you subscribed. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
• Understand which pages, campaigns, and content actually help people, so we can improve them.
• Detect and block abuse of our forms (spam, automated submissions).

We do not sell your information. We do not use it for behavioral advertising on third-party sites.

Third parties we use

We use a small set of vendors to operate the site. Each one receives only the data they need.

• Vercel hosts the site and provides performance telemetry (Speed Insights). Vercel sees standard request metadata.
• Google Analytics 4 records anonymized pageviews and conversion events.
• PostHog records anonymized product analytics. Person profiles are created only for identified users (for example, after you submit the contact form).
• Resend delivers the emails generated by our contact form to our team inbox.
• LeadConnector (HighLevel) handles meeting scheduling.

Each of these vendors has their own privacy practices, posted on their own websites.

How long we keep it

Inquiry data (contact form, assessment, estimate) lives in our email and our internal CRM. We keep it as long as the relationship is active and for a reasonable period afterward (typically up to seven years) for tax and contract records, then delete or archive it.

Analytics data (GA4, PostHog) is retained according to each vendor’s configured retention. We use defaults of 14 months for GA4 and one year for PostHog event data.

Newsletter subscriptions persist until you unsubscribe.

Cookies and similar technologies

The site uses first-party cookies and the analytics cookies set by GA4 and PostHog. We do not use cross-site advertising cookies. Your browser settings control cookie behavior; blocking analytics cookies will not break the site.

Your choices

• Ask us what we have on you. Email [email protected].
• Ask us to delete what we have on you, where we can.
• Unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time.
• Use browser-level Do Not Track or block analytics cookies.

Security

We treat client data the way we treat our own. The site enforces HTTPS everywhere, uses a strict Content-Security-Policy, rate limits and honeypots its forms, and stores transactional data with vendors that meet recognized security standards.

Children

The site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their information.

Changes to this policy

When we update this page we update the “Last updated” date at the top. Material changes will also be announced in the next monthly newsletter.
